Welcome All Things

There comes a time when a man must stand on his own

Face his demons

He must ignore external influences

And distractions

He must listen to his inner self

And then he must listen to the silence

Whatever has brought me to this point

Must be thrown away

Whatever plans I have for the future

Must be set aside

I accept the tasks in front of me

They are mine

Reflection of the Source

If we look on the Self as the ego then we become the ego,

if as the mind we become the mind,

if as the body we become the body.

It is the thought which builds up sheaths in so many ways.

The shadow on the water is found to be shaking.

Can anyone stop the shaking of the shadow?

If it should cease to shake you would not notice the water but only the light.

Similarly to take no notice of the ego and its activities,

but see only the light behind.

The ego is the I-thought.

The true ‘I’ is the Self.

– Ramana Maharshi

We become whatever we look upon.

We see the shaking.

We see the illusion.

That is the way we know it is a reflection.

Without the shaking,

We see the source,

The light.

We do not see the reflection.

The ego is the reflection.

The true ‘I’ is the light

Memory

Why is it that we can remember some things some of the time, but not all things all of the time?  Why is memory selective to the situation and the frame of mind?  Why does doing certain things trigger certain memories?  Why are those memories chosen over others?

Sometimes the memories bring pleasure, and we cherish those over the ones that bring us pain.  Still, we remember the ones that bring us pain.

One memory…  one moment… triggering the next one.

What was the first one?  And how could there ever be a first one?

An empty state

A state of emptiness

Thankful – Abundance – Coyotes

I feel that I spend so much time looking at where I want to be that I don’t take the time to be thankful for where I am.  I have a loving wife that puts her family first.  2 smart, vibrant, creative children.  Parents, siblings, in-laws, extended families.  Readers and supporters like you.  A career (not a job) where I am paid well and challenged.  A nice house, car, stuff…Freedom.  Independence. Safety. Security. Love. Prosperity. Abundance.

Impermanence

Water doesn’t react, it flows

Even a rock changes over time

Eroded by the elements

Permanence of any kind is a myth

My Awakening Experience and Moving Forward

This post is part of a series of posts that was initiated by Barbara of Me My Magnificent Self. In this challenge each blogger writes of their own experience and then highlights the blogger that will be posting the next in the series. For all the original detail please see the January Challenge on Barabra’s own blog and for the next in this series please go to DottaRaphels.   I am posting after the insightful, stupendous, marvelous, magnificent madam M.  A very tough act to follow.  For a full schedule of contributors scroll down to the bottom of this post.

So, what is awakening?  I will skip looking up the Webster’s dictionary definition of the word and go to the heart of how I define awakening.  To me, being awake is being aware and mindful that reality is deeper than what we perceive on the surface.  I keep wanting to assign additional attributes to this that are more feelings than realization of the true nature of things.

“That which makes you think that you are a human is not human. It is but a dimensionless point of consciousness, a conscious nothing; all you can say about yourself is: ‘I am’. You are pure being-awareness-bliss. To realize that is the end of all seeking. You come to it when you see all you think yourself to be as a mere imagination and stand aloof in pure awareness of the transient as transient, imaginary as imaginary, unreal as unreal.”

Mirror Image

Do you see yourself only when you look in a mirror?  Or do you also see yourself when you  look at everything you encounter?  Just as a mirror reflects a physical representation of how you view yourself, the world reflects your true nature.  Your immediate surroundings represent, in physical form, things that you like.  You surround yourself with things that make you happy and things that you think you need to live the life that you think you want.

Your surroundings can be neat or cluttered, also representing the state of your being.  You can take actions to change your surroundings by creating or destroying.  Your actions reflect your mind state and your reaction to those actions may represent something else entirely.  There can be a conflict between the action and the emotion related to that action.  That must surely represent that you are out of harmony with yourself (Karma).  At this point you have to step back and feel the emotion, but not judge it.  With awareness, you can change your actions.

Priorities

This has been a very involved week at work.  I was promoted to manager a few months ago, and I have felt under the wave for a while.  We have been completing the testing on a product that I am responsible for and we need to be able to hit a certain date and everything is production ready.  On top of this I am interviewing people for my old position and working customer enhancement requests.

This is a lot, and just seeing it all written out makes me realize that.  The only thing that is getting me through is constant prioritization of what is to be done now.  The top thing for me was getting the product release out the door.  This release needs to be stable and support the new features that have been requested by the various groups.  At the same time I identify the next priority and try to push it along a little bit.  I do that on down the line pushing things along as I see opportunities.

Pretty soon the effort required for my top priority goes down and I am able to shift and expand my focus.  My goal is to have a more balanced focus across what I am responsible for instead of trying to focus all energy on one single priority for a long haul.  It is a constant re-prioritization, but it should always start in the now.  Determine the immediate need, and address that.  Then feed and care for the rest.

if you follow the paintbrush with your eyes while not moving your head, it forces you to use emdr which is a therapeutic technique to calm anxiety/panic. watching fish swim causes the same effect.

Pineal Gland Decalcification

I have been seeing a lot of videos lately for pineal gland activation.  The pineal gland is what is commonly called the third eye or the Anja Chakra.  This is essentially the center of our being.  Surprisingly this was theorized in Ancient Egypt, but I guess if you cut open enough people, you will start to see some crazy patterns.  In the video above, Infinite Waters/Ralph Smart explains that the pineal gland is actually made out of rods and cones, like your eyes.  Very interesting.

The pineal gland is responsible for our vivid, lucid dreams and really acts as a conduit to our infinite self.  Unblocking the pineal gland is key to exapnding your mind and getting in touch with what is beyond these finite trappings.  Ralph shares five techniques that he has used in his journey to unblock the gland.  This is the first video that I have seen about pineal gland de-calcification that really explains some of the actual science and reasoning for doing the decalcification.
